Up to 45% state funding:

Example: If you replace your old oil boiler with an environmentally friendly pellet heating system from Robin Wood, the government funding amounts to 45% of the investment amount.

If you combine your new pellet heating system with thermal solar collectors, the entire system will receive 45% funding.

Up to 35% state funding:

Example: When replacing the old heating system, every ROBIN WOOD pellet heating system receives state funding of 35% of the gross investment costs.

If you combine your new pellet heating system with thermal solar collectors, the entire system will receive 35% funding.

Funding in new construction

From January 1st, 2021 there will be no state funding for individual measures in new buildings.

Pellet heating systems are now subsidized through the eligible costs of KfW new building funding.

From July 1st, 2021, you will have the option of applying for funding via direct grant instead of loan funding.

The installation of a pellet heating system will then be particularly honored through the introduction of “EE classes”.

Example: For an efficiency house of 40 renewable energy, the effective additional funding is €9,750.00; for an efficiency house of 55 renewable energy, the effective funding amount is an additional €8,250.00.

This additional funding applies per residential unit. An energy efficiency consultant must be involved in advance to apply for funding and support the project.

The approval authority is the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA).

As the highest federal authority within the scope of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) carries out important administrative tasks for the federal government.
With the BAFA, the federal government is now promoting the replacement of heating systems and the installation of environmentally friendly pellet boilers even more attractively than before! Applications for funding are submitted directly via BAFA.

Additional loan possible via KfW

In addition to the state BAFA funding, the KfW development bank can also grant low-interest loans with repayment waivers. The federally owned KfW development bank provides extensive funding to finance the construction or purchase of energy-efficient buildings, energy-efficient renovation and the use of renewable energies.

Eligible costs

I. Facility costs
  • Heat generator (pellet boiler)

  • Installation, commissioning, adjustment and instruction of the system operator

  • Fuel discharge, conveyance and supply (biomass plants)

  • Measurement, control and regulation technology (MSR), building automation, energy management systems

  • Heat storage (e.g. buffer storage)

II. Additional costs (environmental measures)
  • Heating or technical room (only in existing buildings)

  • Fuel storage

  • Exhaust systems and chimneys (only in existing buildings)

  • Heat distribution and heat transfer (only in existing buildings)

  • Hot water preparation (only in existing buildings)

  • Dismantling work

  • Costs for consulting, planning and construction support services

You can find a detailed list of eligible costs in the BAFA information sheet:

Requirement for funding

All ROBIN WOOD pellet boilers meet the funding requirements and are listed by BAFA as pellet boilers eligible for funding.

Please note that for pellet boilers, a buffer storage volume of at least 30 liters / kW nominal output is a funding requirement.

Example: With the ECOPELLET 18 KW you need a buffer volume of 540 liters. So you could use the ROBIN WOOD PS600, for example.

IMPORTANT: A heat meter must be installed to record the heat generated.

How do I get the funding?

Before you buy the goods, you must submit the application!

When submitting your application, please indicate the amount of the expected eligible costs. Be generous and round the amounts up.

You can start with the measure immediately after confirmation of receipt.

You have an approval period of 24 months to implement the measure.

After the system has been put into operation, but no later than six months after the end of the approval period, the final invoice from the heating specialist company, the specialist contractor's declaration and proof of hydraulic balancing must be submitted with the proof of use. I.e. : If an application is submitted under the BEG, it is no longer possible to install the biomass system yourself.

However, it can be accepted if work to install the biomass system is carried out by the applicant, but the final acceptance/commissioning of the system (checking the correct installation, etc.) is carried out by a specialist company ( e.g. manufacturer of biomass systems). . The specialist contractor declaration must be signed by the relevant specialist contractor so that it can be recognized.
